Noticeable to the player

Bug Fixes
  1. Station market searches work (as in searching for something at the station you're at).
  2. Yet more freezing fixes :)
  3. Power Recharge rate now shows the correct amount on the ship modification screen
  4. Weapon fire rate will now transfer correctly - you may find some of your weapons are a bit slower.
  5. Shield recharge rate problem now fixed.
  6. Bug fixed when loading the empire screen and you have no colonies.
  7. By the power of the creator Moved Vald M1 so that people can do scan missions on it (as it was hidden by the station there)
  8. Hyper jumping through a jump gate now only takes 5 seconds to jump, as it should do.
  9. The Galaxy Viewer now allows searching for systems properly ALSO ON THE IPHONE APP VERSION, for those who were having problems.
  10. If someone dies, and has a ship at their clone location that they haven't got the rank to fly, they are now given a shuttle (instead of stranding them there).

Enhancements
  1. In the route planner if you need to refuel in a system, but there is no place to refuel there the word "Refuel" will show up in red instead of green.
  2. There is now a "Forgotten Login Details" link on the main menu which allows you to get your account details resent to your email address.

Gameplay Changes
  1. Explorators have now start out at a +5.1 scan rating, all old explorator BPs have been updated and all existing explorators have been updated too. (for referencence, the old scan rating was 2.1)
  2. Scan results are returned in the following way : scan rating 0.2 -> 4, one resource returned. 4-10, two returned. 10+ 3 or more returned. The highest people have, scan rating wise at the moment, is 8.

Subscription System Changes
  • We've decided to change the way that the subscription works - all players who are not subscribed now only get half the XP and Credits for any mission they do, regardless of their level. Additionally, players are no longer stopped advancing at level ten.
  • However, unsubscribed players still only get one colony (of a maximum size of 20) to develop, and anyone who's subscription ends will only be able to access their first colony ever created until they resubscribe.
  • Additionally unsubcribed players can not use any ship that requires a rank of MCC1 or higher (so they can't fly the System Defence Craft, Heavy Cruiser, Carrier, Battleship, Dreadnought or the Palatial Dreadnought.) - we may be lowering the level here, comments welcome! Having thought about this, I think we're going to drop it so they can't fly any medium class or high class ship, so that would include a whole load more - see here for details : http://wiki.outer-empires.com/index.php ...   • We believe that changing the overall subscription method to the game will allow us to get a larger player base, meaning the economy will flourish more, resources will become more sought after, manufactured items more important, etc. Overall, we believe the "free" players will enhance the experience of the "paid" players, while not degrading what the paid players get (faster game play, money gain, the ability to have as many colonies as you can manage, access to the full range of ships, etc).
  • We, of course, welcome comment on all of the above - I'll be sending out emails to everyone who has tried the game today but not stuck with it telling them about the recent enhancements (like combat jobs ;)) and that the subscription method has changed... I think we'll be able to tempt a fair few people back to play and that can only be a good thing!

I like the subscription changes, it makes it more likely that free players will be invited to a faction.

I believe it will also help with subscriptions as before you got cut off just as things were getting good.

Like the changes a lot. The more someone can play, the more they get hooked and essentially want more... You will see an influx on subs, plus a great influx of players.

i love the new subscript method, at level 10, i don't know if you get enough of a taste to get seriously addicted.. and when i was in college, i woulda been one of those "i can't afford a monthly subscription, but i still feel like playing.. so i'm going to work twice as hard :P" people

anyways, looks like fun
