Your job requires no additional funding as it is to vote on "game development direction".

It is most certainly not your job to raise the cost of playing.

Let gov tax increases be restricted to gov. space business only.
Or tax factions based on the number of players they keep. Something like a tax on the wealth of the factions as a whole. Yes, that sounds about right to me.

Why don't we do what (some) RL governments do and spend way more than we can afford every year? Let's sell about 15 trillion in bonds to the aliens, and just fight them off when they come to collect. As an added bonus maybe we'll collapse their economy in the process. Intergalactic great recession! Let our kids worry about the budget after we've retired from the game.

I would never give the aliens such a strong justification for attacking or attempting to 'reposes' Nyridion, or plan on practicing such a reckless fiscal policy.
